Massey Ferguson Tractor

  
Here is my Massey 1080. 88hp, shes a big old girl, one picture shows it alongside a 135 for a bit of scale, its not going on an Ifor Williams! But tractor transport isnt as expensive as I thought when this was brought down from Somerset. Brought back from Brittany in 2016. Now registered on an age related L reg, and I have the log book in my name. The original tinwork is in great shape, with only a very light dusting of surface rust, nothing I would call corroded on the tractor anywhere. Hour clock doesnt work, needs a new cable, but I dont think the tractor has done a lot of work, steering is nice and tight, tyres I think are original, and also all matching Klebers. Linkage has no undue wear in it. Gear linkage is a bit loose, but not a problem, partly due to a lot of linkage as the levers are mounted on the dash. Tilt and reach adjustable steering wheel. Drives well, steering has no undue play, and is nice and positive, no wandering on the road.

Starts on the button, I had the starter repaired, and also the wiper motor, Ive got the head lights and sidelights working, also the front and lower rear worklights are all wired up with new switches etc and with a more modern blade fuse box fitted where the original was, also fitted all new light units to the tractor. New brakes also replaced in the time Ive had the tractor. Multi power all works fine. Ive used the tractor topping, log splitting, towing and tipping trailers, so all that side of things are working.

An interesting tractor, that was ahead of its time in many ways, with some nice driver features, other than its before q cabs became the norm, but also easy to see the condition of the whole tractor without all the cladding etc obscuring cab corrosion! The tractor has an age related, uk plate, and is all registered and taxed. No VAT to pay on this tractor. No time wasters or silly offers please, I havent got the time for it! Ive added a video to YouTube, Massey 1080 start up and walk around.
